Preliminary Round (recording)

Maximum duration: 30 minutes

Each contestant must perform:

a) Any Prelude and Fugue from The Well-Tempered Clavier (Book I or II) by J.S. Bach
b) One Etude from Op. 10 or Op. 25 by F. Chopin
c) Any Concert Etude by F. Liszt, C. Debussy, S. Rachmaninoff or A. Scriabin
d) A piece or a group of pieces chosen by the candidate

First Round (October 11-12, 2011)

Maximum duration: 30 minutes

Each contestant must perform the same program that was submitted in recorded form for the Preliminary Round. No changes will be allowed. The Jury may ask for any work, or any part of the work of each contestant's program.

Semifinal Round (Thursday, October 13, 2011)

Maximum duration: 45 minutes

Each Semifinalist must perform a recital program of contestant's choice. None of the works from the previous rounds may be used.

Final Round (Saturday, October 15, 2011)

A concerto chosen from the following:

Beethoven No. 4 in G Major
Beethoven No. 5 in E-flat Major
Chopin No. 1 in E Minor
Liszt No. 1 in E-flat Major
Saint-Saens No. 2 in G Minor
Schumann Concerto in A minor
Tchaikovsky No. 1 in B-flat Minor
Rachmaninov No. 2 in C Minor
Rachmaninov Rhapsody on a Theme by Paganini
Prokofiev No. 1 in D-flat Major

First Round (recording)

Two pieces of contrasting styles from advanced standard piano solo repertoire

Final Round (Friday, October 14, 2011)

Contestant must play one movement of a piano sonata and one additional contrasting piece from advanced standard piano solo repertoire (no concertos). Both pieces have to be performed from memory and may be the same as on the entry recording. Each contestant will be allowed maximum performance time of twelve minutes.
